A patrol officer from the Greenwich Police Department was driving east on West Putnam Avenue behind a white Mercedes-Benz, which was swerving and unable to drive within its established lane.
Police said that during the subsequent traffic stop, it was determined that Greenwich resident John Pastore had alcohol on his breath and failed three Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. He was arrested and charged with illegal operation of a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and cited for failure to drive in the proper lane.
Pastore was released on his own recognizance and is due in Stamford Superior Court on Sept. 17 to answer the charges.
